The Lissome, Edition No. 5, Rise Up Rooted, Like Trees

We are very happy to welcome The Lissome back to our shop after carrying their first issue a few years ago. It seems like a lot has changed since their first issue - at that time, the conversation around fashion/sustainaibility/craft seemed to just be starting and The Lissome had a big hand in presenting a new way of looking at things. This issue is a continuation in the marrying of fashion with climate and sustainability in a way that is vitally important, that continues to open the door to a new understanding of the way we view the structure of the world around fashion. The title, Rise Up Rotted, Like Trees, originates from a Rainer Maria Rilke poem - "If we surrendered to earth's intelligence, we would rise up rooted, like trees." A beautiful metaphor that is explored through various interviews and essays inside the magazine's pages. The photography is beautiful and inspiring, and the interviews give voice to new ways of doing things. We can't recommend this enough.
